My name is Donna Spradlin, I am the single parent of twin sons. One is in the military, the other is a college student. They have both encourged me to return to school, so I did. I was the first in my family to graduate from high school and the first to actually attend a college.
I am from a military family, father, uncles and two aunts plus a brother and now a son have all served in one of the services for our country.
What I would like to get from this class is a better understanding of our government and the way it works. I get frustrated some times at what I see as unfair or unworkable ideas becoming fact. Such as Obamacare. I don't think it can work, even if the idea is a good one. I also do not understand why the government keeps extending unemployment benefits for some, when, I left my last job for medical reasons, and I couldn't get unemployment at all.
